Configuring the Stream service

View the current status of the Stream service and manage its nodes. The Stream service provides a resiliency mechanism that replicates data to process it on multiple nodes and prevent data loss. Configure Stream nodes to ingest, route, and deliver high volumes of data such as web clicks, transactions, sensor data, and customer interaction history.

  1. Click Designer Studio > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services > Decision Data Store.
  2. Add a node:
    1. Click Add node.
    2. In the window that is displayed, select the check box for the Stream node that you want to add. You can add multiple nodes.
    3. Click Submit.
    4. Refresh the landing page until the status of the node changes to NORMAL.
  3. To set the replication factor of the Stream service, click Edit settings.
The value of the replication factor determines the number of partition copies that are processed on the Stream nodes. For example, with a replication factor of two and three Stream nodes, each partition is available on two of the three nodes. If one node goes down, processing continues on the remaining node.
  4. Optional: Click the row for the node to display detail information, such as the node ID, total memory used, and stream records throughput.
  5. Optional: Manage a node by selecting an action from the Execute menu.
