Adding virtual fields

Create fields based on the ones that are available in the set of input fields. Virtual fields offer the ability to test different ways of treating the same data

  1. In the Data analysis step, click New virtual field.

  2. Enter a unique name.

  3. Enter a description.
  4. Use functions and fields to construct a formula that defines the virtual field.

    1. Click Functions and select the required function from the list.

    2. Click Insert.

    3. Click Fields and select the required field from the list.

    4. Click Insert.

    5. Click Validate to check the correctness of the formula.
  5. Click Save & close.

  6. Right-click the field to change its role type:

    • For the numeric virtual field, you can change the role to predictor, value, ignored, benchmark, previous score, or benchmark inference.

    • For the symbolic virtual field, you can change the role to predictor, ignored, or value.

Note: You can also select a virtual field as the outcome field.
