Updating Designer Studio preferences

You access all your manually managed preferences from the Operator menu. Each setting is retained between sessions until you explicitly change it.

  1. On the Operator menu, click Preferences. The Operator menu is labeled with your full name and appears in the Designer Studio header.
  2. From the Override default application skin list, select a skin rule from the list of options.
  3. This rule overrides the skin specified in your portal rule.

  4. Select the Auto checkout on save as check box to automatically check out a rule after you create it by using the Save as option. Ensure that your Operator ID and the appropriate rulesets support rule checkout before you set this preference.
  5. From the Swim-lane orientation list, select an option to control the default presentation of swimlanes when you create a flow. You cannot override this setting in the Flow form after a flow is created.
  6. In the User ID field, enter the user ID for your project management system, if it is different from your application ID.
  7. The value that you specify ensures that project work appears in your project worklist and your development updates are tracked in your project management system, such as Agile Studio. You can leave this field blank if your application ID and project management ID are the same.

  8. Select the Include tabs check box to display open items as tabs in the Designer Studio work area.
  9. Clear this check box to include only one item at a time in the Designer Studio work area. When you close an item, the next, most recent item loads in the Designer Studio work area. Use the Recent Explorer to make navigation among open items easier.

You must log out of Designer Studio for updates to this preference to take effect.

  10. Select the Ignore locale check box to display the Designer Studio portal in U.S. English, regardless of operator or browser locale.

Selecting this check box also sets date formats, time formats, and number formats to U.S. standards, ignoring any locale-specific settings.

By default, this check box is not selected. Some rulesets are shared between Designer Studio and end-user portals. Translated words may appear in Designer Studio.

You must log out of Designer Studio for updates to this preference to take effect.

  11. Click Save to apply your changes.
  12. To restore your preferences to the values that were assigned when you first created your operator, click Apply Default Preferences and then click Save.
