Adding a flow action to a case type

Add a flow action to a case type to supplement the tasks that users can accomplish when a case is in any stage or step. By allowing case workers to decide when a task is performed, you build flexibility into your case types.

  1. In the explorer panel of Designer Studio, click Cases and then click the name of a case type.

  2. On the Settings tab, click Actions.

  3. Click + Add user action.

  4. In the User action field, press the Down Arrow key and select the name of a flow action.

Alternatively, you can enter a name and click the Open icon to create a new flow action.

  5. Optional: Press the Down Arrow key in the Allowed when field and select the name of a when condition.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Click Save.

At run time, the when condition associated with the flow action is evaluated. If it returns a true value, the flow action is displayed as an available action in the header of a case.
