Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) is an optional add-on product consisting of a ruleset and a stand-alone Java program that can be run from a command-line.
BIX extracts data from your Pega 7 applications and exports it in a format suitable for use in popular business intelligence applications, such as data warehouses. High-performance, multi-threaded extraction operations operate independently of Pega 7 and can occur even when Pega 7 is not running.
BIX provides the extract functions of an ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) utility and can provide some portion of the transformation functions. This capability is provided by the Pega-BIXruleset, which supports Extract rules (the Rule-Admin-Extract rule type).
