ActiveX control

An ActiveX control is Microsoft's term for an OCX file containing executable code that is downloaded from a network.

Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers do not support ActiveX controls; this means that any PRPC feature dependent on an ActiveX control may only be accessed by supported versions of Internet Explorer.

ActiveX controls shipped with Pega 7 are digitally signed by Pegasystems Inc. Application users and developers are prompted to download these controls as they encounter (or use) the dependent features for the first time.
