Overview

FHIR®© – Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (hl7.org/fhir) is a next generation standards framework created by the HL7 organization. It is designed to enable the exchange of healthcare related information including clinical, administrative, public health, and research data. The specification leverages widely used RESTful APIs that use HTTP requests to GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE data.

By adding this component, you can make use of the APIs to GET information from electronic medical / health record (EMR/EHR) systems and use the data in your Pega applications.

FHIR®© is based on “Resources” which are common building blocks for all data exchanges. Resources are represented as either XML or JSON.

This version of the Pega FHIR®© API component supports the current - DSTU2 - version of the FHIR®© Standard and a select set of Resources in the REST/JSON format.

Key Features

  • Pre-configured REST Connect Integration rules for select Resources based on FHIR Standard
  • Pre-configured Integration Data model supporting the APIs
  • Pre-configured Data Pages supporting each API
