Well I don't know how you define "type of SLA" so I'll go ahead and just tell you that you can apply a service level agreement on an individual assignment or across the whole work object. The former is done by a field on the assignment shape that prompts for the name of the SLA rule, the latter by setting the property pySLAName to the SLA rule in the work model. When the work object's status changes to resolved (using the UpdateStatus activity to do so), the SLA on the work object - referred to as the 'overall sla' - will be ended.
