Question

In Security Tab of Activity Ruleform, there are Validate and Assembler options available for Usage Dropdown, but in Help it is marked as "Do not choose Validate or Assembler for this field." What these options does? & why it should not be chosen?

Hello,

I'm not 100% certain, but based on the names, I would assume they are options used internally in the development of the PegaPlatform itself. I don't know exactly in what way they are handled differently than other activities, but no doubt the engine generates slightly different java so that they behave the way a Validate or Assembler activity needs to behave. For instance, I know triggers don't commit database transactions, so if you need an activity that doesn't do that, they are  a good choice. I would say if you don't understand the differences in behavior, it's probably best not to use them so as to avoid surprises.

Thanks,
Mike
