restarting the app server

Hi, we have 6 applications that are exposed as services . everytime , there is a problem with 1 service ( for example problem connecting to a db etc) , we had to restart the entire app server . is there a way to just refresh the application(service) that is having an issue so that other applications on prpc are not impacted ...

Have you considered running 6 app servers, scaled down since they only have to handle 1/6th the workload of the original, each running 1 of the services, but all directing back to the same PRPC database?

Depending on your version of PRPC, you should be able to use the System Management Application to manage service Listeners (start, stop, restart, etc) without having to restart the entire server.

Some information on the System Management Application is here: http://pdn.pega.com/productsupport/products/pegarulesprocesscommander/documents/prpc/Help_V54/tools/systemmanagement/systemmanagement.asp

There is also an installation and use guide available for it.

Does that address your question?
