Messy Chinese Characters while sending SMS to customers

We're using Pega Communication to build up the campaign for our telecomm client to send the SMS messages to the customers.

It's OK for English SMS content. But when we try to send Chinese messages, it shows question mark(?) on the custormers' cellphones. Kindly please advise it.

Thanks for your reply.

Based on our checking, out pega system has been set as UTF-8 already.

And we also searched and checked the post you given, which is for Chinese character storing to database, but our issue is to send SMS with Chinese characters.

Please kindly advise more.

Have you confirmed the customer's phones have the relevant fonts to be able to display these characters ?
