Question

How to trace the step by step rules while working on mobile app?

Hi,

We have our native mobile app for our desktop application running from us. As I am still learning the mobile side debugging/troubleshooting, I would like to know is there anyway I can trace the rules/activities from developer portal/designer studio for a particular user logged in. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Ravi Kumar.

You can use remote tracer once you identify the corresponding requestor. To trace -

  1. Go to System -> Operations -> Requestor management
  2. Filter with Operator ID
  3. Remote trace the one with type APP.

Hi Ravi,

Ideally, we should not be login to mobile with the developer/manager login, this is not a valid use case since these use iframes & all, which will not work as expected in mobile.

In mobile, one should only log in as the user -caseworker login.

With user login, you can debug. You need to connect the mobile to desktop and open chrome browser and write chrome://inspect/#devices. Now if your mobile is successfully connected, you should be able to view the your device in the browser, then there you can debug it.

Hope this helps.

Rachit

Thanks Rachit for the info. As a company policy, we use IE browser only. Is there anyway I can trace it using IE? Pls guide me.

Thanks

Ravi Kumar.

Since you specifically mention 'trace', it is possible using remote tracer which works fine on IE.

With IE, debugging javascript would be possible only if you use Client for Windows.

Thanks Rai for the update. Looks like this component is available for V7.3.x but we are using 7.2.2. Do you think still we can install in our environment to proceed further?

Thanks,

Ravi Kumar.
