Question

Can we customize Repeating Grid filter using two Property values for a single column?

We are having a requirement to filter a Repeating Grid column. Repeating Grid source is a Report Definition and the results of the Report Definition is stored in a Data Page. There is a property called DaysToGo which will calculate using two Property values (ActionDate, CaseCalender – calculation is done using a Control rule). All these three Properties are included in the Report Definition so when it generating the results for grid DaysToGo Property get values without any issue. For the filtering Pega behavior is execute the same Report Definition only for the filtering column (ex: Report Definition SQL -> SELECT DISTINCT DAYSTOGO FROM…..). In DB there are no values for DAYSTOGO so it shows blank for filters. Is there any way to customize repeating grid filters to solve this issue? PRPC V7.2

Hello,

I don't think we can customize the grid filtering. In the description you have mention DaysToGo is calculated on basis of 2 other properties. Is it using any custom control ?

Do let us know your thoughts/observations.

Yes, as I mentioned above DaysToGo calculation is done using a HTML Control which include BUSINESSCALENDAR DIFFERENCEBETWEENDAYS function.

For non-auto control, grid filtering will not work. You can try this:

For that column, select Filtering Type as Range/Search, FilterBy as format and in the Filter by range field enter any field which is present tn DB (say.. any of the properties used to calculate DaysToGo field )

ScreenShot:

Other than this, I cannot find any option to perform filtering on the non-auto field.

Hope this helps.

I have tried above scenario, but it also not solving this issue.

After setting the filter as Range/Search, filter by as format and filter by range as ActionDate filter pop-up shows two date pickers(for From and To) since ActionDate property type is DateTime but DaysToGo’s property type is Text and it has negative numbers. So the filtering can’t be done.

I have tried it with List Only filter also then in the filter pop-up it shows only value 0 which is not in DaysToGo values.

As mentioned above, for non-auto controls, grid filtering will not work.
