Question

Application crashes when using PEGA Robotics Runtime (Openspan) while running with PEGA Robotics Studio works fine

Hi,

We experience a Appcrash when running our automation project with the Runtime only, that we do not get when we running it in the Studio version.

The crash happens as soon as we try to use the first UI control(Button) of the application.

We get this error when we start the application automated and also when we start it manuelly and hook in when its already running.

Is this a known issue, what could we try to avoid the Error?

Error in Eventviewer:

Do you have any automations in Studio that are set to "Not Run"? I've done that before... Those "Not Run" automations run under runtime unless you change the Runtime Config...

Here the official answer from the support:

"Studio and Runtime should not be installed on the same machine because they are known to cause issues with each other. For a user who has Studio on their machine their is a version of runtime that is stored in the installation folder called < OpenSpan.Runtime.exe >.
Since Runtime is stored in the installation folder of Studio there is no reason to have both softwares installed on the same computer."
