Which version you are working on? Is the decision tree built in 5.3 and trying to open it in later version some thing like that? Please can you provide the screen shot? Thanks Shiva Kandukuri

you can use and edit validte rule to customise the message or if you are calling and activity wou can white the customised error message there.
