Please note that it is not recommended to use GitHub as an artifact repository. Artifact repositories such as S3, JFrog Artifactory or even the filesystem make more sense. The link above gives a better explanation of this.

In Pega 8.1.x, log categories are database persisted, in the case, if you migrate pr_data table, you should have the same log categories. Check Admin Studio for details.
