Question

Is there a Pega function in existence or planned for converting .EML to .MHT email formats?

With Outlook 2020, our Client worries that .EML will no longer be supported. So, as Pega handles processing them, they hope Pega will have a function for auto-converting .EML to .MHT.

So, is there a Pega function in existence or planned for converting .EML to .MHT email formats?

Hi Stew,

The ".msg" format is a proprietary Microsoft format that is generated by software such as Outlook, so most non-Microsoft software lacks the ability to generate an msg file for you.

The only official way to end up with an msg file is to have a person or a plugin use Outlook client software to generate it.

It appears that Exchange servers do not provide a way to generate msg files via their APIs. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6293129/save-mail-to-msg-file-using-ews-api
