Snowbound Viewer for PEGA 7.3.1

I came across the document viewer solution in PEGA exchange. Please refer to the link below.

We are currently running on PEGA 7.3.1 (in PEGA cloud) and we want this capability for our business users. PEGA upgrade to 8.1 is planned after 1 year and the business cannot wait that long to get this feature. Is it possible to back-port the document viewer solution to PEGA 7.3.1?

Hello @DheepanP4947,

After speaking to some of my SMEs here, it's recommended that if you want that feature that you'll need to upgrade to 8.1. Best course of action is to open a Support Request to find out if you can upgrade sooner.

Thank you for the quick response. We have single PEGA instance shared by 8 different project teams. The earliest possible window for upgrade from business perspective is Apr to Jun 2019. The requirement to have a document viewer solution is critical for one of the projects. As this is new capability and integration is with a third-party solution, we thought it will be interoperable with previous versions of PEGA. Request you to consider the business situation and let us know if it is possible to back-port the document viewer.

Second question: We are running on PEGA cloud. This solution requires EAR file from Snowbound to be deployed on an application server. If we purchase license for this product from Snowbound, will PEGA cloud support deploying the EAR in our cloud instance or do we need to deploy the EAR in in-house application server? We prefer the first option as the documents are stored in PEGA and it will be performance efficient to have Snowbound deployed next to PEGA in the same infrastructure. Please provide your views on that subject also.
