Question

is Rule rebasing required with Pega Deployment Manager?

https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v74/express/procomhelpmain.htm#designer-studio/rebasing/ds-rule-rebasing-con.htm

Its mentioned that if we use a third-party automation servers such as Jenkins we have to manually rebase.

Does that mean if we use pega deployment manager, rebasing is not required?

Hi

If you are using a shared development environment, then even though you use PDN you would need to Rebase.

It mostly depends on how you setup your pipeline.

If you want to move code deployed in higher environment to lower environment rebase feature can be perform sync up. Currently deployment manager don't perform sync up automatically from higher environment to lower environment. Hence rebase can be used for sync up.

I have multiple dev servers and one central server where we merge our branches.

When i initiate a branch merge and move the branch to the central server.. Do i have to rebase all my dev servers to sync the changes?

If all dev servers are connected to single database, then rebase can be performed once, else rebase should be performed on all dev servers.
