Question

Restrict Assignments to user

Hi -

I am trying to restrict access to who can work on an assignment in Pega. For instance, I have a workgroup of 6 operators and all are apart of the same workbasket. I would like only 3 of them to work on the first assignment, and the other 3 to work on second assignment. They are all apart of the same workgroup, and the issue is that all 6 of them can work on both assignments. How can I restrict access to where only a set of operators can only perform a specific assignment and not the others? Thank you.

Hello,

What Pega version is it? I guess the first question is how can you identify those users? How can you detect which ones can work on the first assignment for example?

Hi -

This is Pega 8.3.

Secondly, that is what I am trying to figure out, if there is a way for Pega to differentiate operators within the same work group and workbasket.

Operators (A,B,C) - I desire these to work on assignment 1, which involves inputting information on a form. These should not have access to assignment 2

Operators (X,Y,Z) - I desire these to work on assignment 2, which involves approving the form in assignment 1. These should not have access to assignment 1.

Does this make sense? How will I go about accomplishing this?

As mentioned by @MarcLasserre_GCS, you should choose how to separate these users - either by access group, or by skills or by first name (call first group Alex, second - Bred).

Ok, the last is a joke (I hope you got it). But it's really up to you what to choose. There are several possibilities

Yes, you could have different AccessGroups or Skills and change the privilegies of the FlowAction to check if they are authorized to process the assignment. This is just a Design decision.
