Question

Repeating grid with a checkbox to pull from a report definition?

Hello all,

I am having trouble adding a repeating layout with a checkbox inside to my UI. The context is that based on the Make (dropdown), Model (dropdown) and Year (dropdown) of a car selected, the VINs associated will display in the repeating layout with check boxes beside them so that one can either select some or all of the VINs that populated inside the repeating layout.

Any insight is helpful! Thank you.

Hi

What version of Pega are you on and what problem are you facing? Please attach screen shots of your configuration.

I am in Pega 8. The problem I am facing is that I need a VIN or set of VINs to display based on the Make, Model and Year of a car selected. You can view the preview of the UI in the bottom right hand corner.

In your screen-shot i could see that you are not using checkbox control.

If also have an option to use multiselect instead of check box if you have multiple values to be displayed and you want to select more than one value.

So what's the problem? Do you use a checkbox control in the inner section in the repeating dynamic layout ?

Hi,

The problem is that when I try to drag and drop the checkbox into the repeating dynamic layout, it doesn't allow it. It only allows an embedded section to be placed in there.

Yes you need to add embedded section in the RDL.

You can add the check box inside this embedded section.

That's expected behaviour.

You should use embedded section in the repeating dynamic layout. And then - in this separate section you will be able to use a checkbox along with other whatever-you-want controls
