Problems Customizing Mobile App Splash Screen Background

I am trying to modify the OOTB Pega Mobile App with a custom logo and background on the splash screen, as well as on the sign in page using the branding assets template for 7-40. After following the steps for filling in the template, I was only able to get our custom logo on the splash screen; the background color of the splash screen is still the standard blue and the sign in page has not changed.

I consulted the following article: for help with the background color but after rebuilding it still did not change.

I also consulted the following article: for general build/customization help, but I do not believe this article is talking about my version.

I am also not sure if there is a more recent branding asset template that is more appropriate for Pega 8. Any assistance with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I have a couple of questions for you, Grant.

  1. Android, iOS or both?
  2. What are the contents of your file?

Usually, these issues are related to improperly structured asset files.

Currently just for Android. includes:

android folder with drawable-hdpi, drawable-mdpi, drawable-xhdpi, drawable-xxhdpi, drawable-xxxhdpi folders, each with updated splashlogo.png files; .DS_Store file; icon_round, keepalive_icon, and notification_icon (all svgs)

common_assets folder with icon.svg file

OOTB _MACOSX and ios folders that I have not changed since I am only working with an Android app

and finally a .txt file with a single line: container.splashScreenBackground=#FFFFFF

All folders and the file are located in the root of the zip file

Assuming you are on Infinity:

"To change the background color of the native splash screen you have to change the style in Containers > Mobile Login > Content > Background:

  • go to App Skin (Application -> Skin)
  • click on Dynamic Layout
  • select Containers in Layouts group
  • Add new style: ‘Mobile Login’
  • under Content tab define Background
  • You need to rebuild your app!

The clue is App Skin: add a container "Mobile Login" with a proper content background.

That should do the trick...
