Question

New Case Type is not available

Hi,

I was unable to see the configuration to create a new case type in Pega 8.1v in the explorer menu. PFA for the screenshot of the issue reporting. Generally there should be a provision to create new case type from the "Case types" tab of menu explorer, but this is not happening in our current application which is built in pega 8.1v. I can see only option available which is "Refresh case types". This behaviour remains the same when tried from Pega Express(App Studio).

Kindly let me know if any comments.

Hello!

Please take a look at the pzCaseTreeExplorerGrid section that has a visibility condition(pzCanCreateWorkTypesForLP) on the 'Add a case type' link on case explorer.

This visibility condition is probably failing for you and resulting the issue. Please check why this visibility condition fails for you.

This happens generally when the work pool is blank or if it is having default value (oega).

Check work pool in your access group and point to right one, hope it works.

Hi 

Please confirm, are you securing Application rule with Password?

If yes, then the When rule "pzCanCreateWorkTypesForLP" becomes false. As mentioned by MilanP in the above reply, this "pzCanCreateWorkTypesForLP" is the visibility when condition for "Add a case type" link in the Case explorer.

Solution:

Please Uncheck the "Require password to update application" in the Application rule, and try it.
