Question

java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Unsupported archive type: 6

As per Pega Customer Service installation guide, during installation of PegaCRM in Pega 8.1 Enterprise edition, the first step is to import the PegaCRM.jar file. While importing the jar file in Pega 8.1, I am getting the error "Import cannot proceed due to exception: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Unsupported archive type: 6". You can also refer the attached screenshot. Can you please let us know why this is happening and steps to resolve the issue. Thank you for the help.

Regards,

Debojyoti

The jar is getting corrupted somehow. I am not sure why would this be happening, you can do one thing.

Copy the jar directly to the folder and then try and import . See if it works.

Also I have notice  the code is not identifying it as a jar file itself. In your screenshot the PegaCRM has no .jar extension in the name. If you see my screenshot it is there. Maybe you have hidden the extension.

If this doesn't work then would need more analysis.

Thank You

Hi,

Can you check one thing, is the file copied to service export folder in your server?

Also check the file size.

Also can you paste log error from the time, if above doesn't help you out.

Thank You

Hi Shubham,

I have the file PegaCRM in ServiceExport directory, as you can see I have previously imported PegaMarketing zip files, but didn't face any such issue.

Did you see the size of the file? For me 8.1 jar is about 557mb, for you I can see it is in 200mb. Is is copied completely ?

Add the error from rules logs if any

Hi Shubham,

Pls find the attached log. Today, I tried to import again and I rechecked the file size. It's now showing 570 mb approx, both in ServiceExport folder and my local m/c.

Just to add one more point. We have upgraded our system from 7.3.1 to 8.1 following In-Place upgrade process. And after that we have imported the PegaMarketing package 8.1 also without any issue.

ok, but the error is very clear with not able to validate the jar. Maybe some bug, try copying the jar directly and see if it working or not.

If you have any other instance test it there as well. Else I guess you would need to raise SR as it would need more debugging.

awesome!!!! the jar was somehow getting corrupted.

Just for information "java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Unsupported archive type: 6" means invalid jar, so in these scenario directly copy the jar and test, It should work as it worked here.

Thank You
