Question

how to get copy of WebExtensionInstaller

I am looking to use Openspan.WebExtensionInstaller.exe so that we can get full performance from our chrome browsers. Where does one find this file?

Hi,

The WebExtensionInstaller.exe is located in the installation folder where you installed the product. The default location is:

  Version 19.1: C:\Program Files (x86)\Pegasystems\Pega Robot Studio\

Version 8.0 or eariler: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSpan\OpenSpan Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio 2015\

Also, you can install the chrome browser extension while installing studio. While installing studio, the setup wizard will ask if you would like to install the chrome browser extension as well. Here is a link to the installation instructions if you choose to reinstall:

Thank you for your reply. I trust what you tell me, however, it is different than what I was told earlier, so I want to verify my understanding. Using this installer does nothing new if you already have the runtime configured for the chrome extension.

We took this action months ago. However, when I was not able to interrogate the chrome page - having already installed the Chrome extension - , I was told that I would have to use this installer.

Now I just ran into a document that says that I just need to log in as admin to get this to work. Was there confusion earlier?

And those instructions which I just found, say that I need to open Chrome as administrator when I do the interrogation. How do I specify that?
