Question

DCO and Pega Express

In Prior versions of Pega we were going with DCO real time requirement session, ONE place to manage, maintain documentation in session. Now we have Pega express, DCO, Agile(external entities). I am confused when question come how you will drive DCO session and where Pega Express fits.

Theory i know all about pega express and drove active DCO sessions, however it's creating confusion in Pega 8, how to take it?

Hi

its such an excellent question. I have driven both DCO and Express.

To me, express is more like a fast forward kind of a thing. You do not need to understand the nitty gritty of the technology. You just sit with your stakeholders, understand their requirements and then create the app then and there.

Where as DCO is more of a classy approach where you gather the information, document them and then run the accelarator etc to generate the application.

@Suman Kumar Bhowmick,

any inputs here?

Agree Express / App Studio is fast forward way , but how requirements are captured here and what about tracing of requirement to implementation.

 I think now focus is on  Feature - Driven development , feature is simple, easy to define and also can be categorized into story , bug and feedback.

 In Pega 8 , I think DCO is , what we do with Feature - Driven development , instead of capturing Specifications and Requirements , now we define Feature and fine tune it  with Sub-Feature , then trace them with rule implementation, also Integrate with Agile workbench , if required with Agile Studio

thank you for reply. It clarifies, but i think I will diverts LSA and LBA in 2 stream and DCO session may not so well like prior. Off course it's arguable and individual may have own views.

Yes Pega Express provide excellent capability to engage business and LBA to define process upfront, then question does it means DCO documentation will be in offline mode documentation.
