Cache issue on a property

Can anyone help me from the below issue.

I have modified Max Length from 256 to 512 on a property. Tested the behavior in Dev environment and promoted to Test Environment.

In Test environment, I am entering a string which has length more than 256 and less than 512. Here I am getting an error says the length is more than 256.

We cleared the cache and also removed marker file from Server, but still I am facing the issue. And this issue was observed in a property-set method.

And also observed the previous version cache of that property is building again and again.

We are working in 7.1.7 version.

Thanks in Advance,

How did you clear the cache? And how many nodes are in your Test environment?

Hi Kip,

We have only one node in Test Environment. We have truncated the data from all the cache related tables. And I explicitly removed cache from Rule Cache management through SMA. Also we removed Pega Marker file from server. Still facing the issue.

Hi Shankar,

I can see below restriction while changing the Max Length on a property in the pega documentation,

When updating or overriding a property that has a Max Length defined, you can enter a smaller Max Length value, but not a larger value.

Thanks Mahesh.

But the behavior should be same in the lower environment too right, its working in Dev environment. Initially we faced the same issue in lower environment too, after clearing the cache, the error has gone. But its not happening in Test environment.

Not sure how its working in the lower environment so far, but as per the documentation you are not supposed to increase the Max Length of the property.
