After export to excel, file is always opened in compatibility mode. Is it problem of Pega or Excel ?

We have export to excel button in reports. Once we click on it, the report is saved in excel format.

Now when excel file is opened it is opened in compatability mode, so we have to 'save as' it again to see that.

(Pega Version 7.1.7 // Excel version - Excel 2016 )

Is this problem from Pega or Excel ??

Please suggest.

Also would like to add, the first exported excel is of large size, when we 'save as' it to excel workbook format, its size is reduced. So why not it can be of smaller size in first export only.

Can you please try the same use case in different machines and let us know the outcome. I will also try the same at my end and let you know.

Hi Rachit,

Yes the scenario is same for all the users and from different machines.

Could you pls confirm , whether its Pega default feature, as the excel is being generated using Pega's inbuilt activity.

Pls confirm soon, so I can communicate this to the client.

Thanks for posting on PSC.

I think we have to enable Check compatibility when saving this workbook box.

Kindly look into the below link which might be helpful.

Could you confirm, whether issue is with excel or with Pega?? As I have tried changing excel settings, but when Pega is creating the excel on click of Export To Excel it is being saved in Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet.

@mayankm5528, were you able to solve this, as I am in similar situation. I am processing the data and exporting it to Microsoft Excel 97- 2003 worksheet and everything i save the excel the compatibility checker pops up which needs manual clicking, is there a way to automate or address this issue.
