Question

8.1.2 Product Rule Import Slowness

After having cloud support upgrade us form 8.1.0 to 8.1.2, it takes an extreme amount of time for me to import even a simple product rule, containing only a few rules. I'm not seeing anything exciting in the logs. Has anyone else noticed this, and do you know if there is a fix?

On a side note, our own private AWS instance that runs 8.1.2 has no issues at all.  This makes me think that there is some tuning that cloud support might need to do.

I looked at the logs again, and see a errors about being unable to calculate Kafka lag for pzStandardProcessor, pyProcessNotification, and pyFTSIncrementalIndexer (the 3 out of box queue processors)

Kafka is OOTB things I don't think it'll be root cause. Did you get any other things in log? do a cash clean & delete temp folder & bounce back the server.

Please review the status of the Stream service and manage its nodes. The Stream service provides a resiliency mechanism that replicates processing data to multiple nodes to prevent data loss.

So Configure Stream nodes to ingest, route, and deliver high volumes of data such as web clicks, transactions, sensor data, and customer interaction history.

In Dev Studio, click Configure > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services > Stream Service # Add a node:

In the window that is displayed, select the check box for the Stream node that you want to add. You can add multiple nodes.

Refresh the landing page until the status of the node changes to NORMAL.

To set the replication factor of the Stream service, click Edit settings.

I would suggest first go to PDC to review the events during the import process, it will give you a lot of clues what is going on.
