Purpose of "Skip Step" in a transition?

Since a transition is evaluated after the step is executed what is the purpose of having an option to "skip step" ?

Thanks.

The Skip step in transition is of no use in normal steps. However if  the step involves an iteration, this choice operates similarly to a break statement in many programming languages.

To skip a step, you can configure a When rule as a condition for performing the action. When the case reaches the action, the Pega 7 Platform evaluates the When rule. If the result is true, the Pega 7 Platform skips the action and advances to the next action in the sequence.
