Problem with RuleSet Locking

Hi,

I got a problem with ruleset locking. I am trying to lock the ruleset and it gives error message saying "Some rules are checkedout"

  • I tried "Rules Checkout by me" . It gives No results.
  • I tried "All Checkouts". It gives one rule(activity) and saying it is checkout by me.
  • I opened the particular rule and it has no option to checkout/checkin .

Strange Issue. Appreciated any ideas.

This is because of other user checked out that particular Rule, so you are not able to lock/check-out/check-in.

Thanks for reply. I checked "all checkouts". It says Nobody using that particular rule except me.

Hi NKKOWSIK,
If you did not make any big changes in the checked out version of the rule, you can always use Obj-Open-By-Handle, followed by Obj-Delete, to delete that instance. I followed the same, but this does not resolve my doubt of why it happened in the first place... Definitely strange for me too...

Naturally. Becuase when you run the "All Checkouts" report it lists the rules which are checked out -- so each of these is the checked out version.

If you indeed have a rule checked out, you should view the "my checkouts" list and open from there. Is your rule listed there?

Hi,

Do you have delete check out option for that specific rule?. Back up your changes, delete check out the rule and re check in the rule with these changes. Some times we may get this type of issues if lock information of that specific rule is corrupted.

Thanks

Thanks for reply.

@CHIRANJEEVI: I don't have option to delete the rule also. So i did Obj-Openby-Handle fallowed by Obj-delete like Arjun said. It worked out well.

Thanks to everybody. Appreciate it.

Hi,

If in such cases, once i try to save the exact rule with another name(backup) and delete the original rule, and save the backup file with exact required name. Try this, it may work.

Furthermore,

These checkouts Lviews are based on database views on certain DBtables. It will not give you the results if a binary file for a flow has a corrupted lock. Please run a database query to find out all the locks.

Click on the Checkout rule Link and delete that from the toolbar. No need to do Obj-Open and Delete.
