External Folder in File Listener?

I need to configure a listener to specify a folder which is present in other system where PRPC is not deployed. How can i do that? Please give any example for the path.

Thanks

A folder on a network file system, or maybe a shared drive? If the folder has a virtual path that is visible to the PRPC system, use that. Otherwise you would need to have some agent process that would periodically copy files to a local folder, possibly via FTP.

A virtual folder is referenced the same way an actual folder is. You just need to map (Windows) or mount (Linux/Unix) a drive so that it appears as a folder on the machine PRPC is running on. If you don't have permissions to do this yourself, talk to a network administrator or someone from IT.

did anyone figure out how to access files on a remote system, other then having java code in an activity?

Hi,

We had similar type of requirement, where we need to access a file from windows FTP location.

To impliment this requirement, write a unix shell script which is run through activity. This unix shell script has ftp comments which pull the file from windows FTP location to Pega Unix drive. And, once the file  available in Unix drive we can easyly access the file from Pega.

Regards.
