Display editable PDF in a Section

I have a PDF(Which is send by an external system A) and need to display in a section. This is an editable PDF.

Once user update the information on the PDF, i need to send back the same to System A. I am able to display the PDF in section by using "embed/iframe" tag.But this is just adding the PDF as a UI component in section. But i want to read the data on PDF and place that in Clipboard. Can you please help me how to achieve this.

***Updated by Moderator: Marissa. Removed user added Ask the Expert group tag. Apologies for confusion, shouldn't have been an end-user option; updated categories***

Hi Hanumanth,

Could you please send a screenshot of the section where you included the PDF -  the embed/iframe tag in particular?

That will give us more clarity.

Sounds like you need a PDF Plugin for this - one that allows editing of PDFs (not sure if their are any available).
In order to extract the contents of the PDF into a PRPC Clipboard - you'll need to write some custom code.

PRPC ships with the 'PDFBox' Library: which allows you to parse PDF contents.

There is an existing example of doing this here :

Also note: that PRPC has support for 'eForms' : where PRPC can create or 'fill-in' PDF-based Forms  - mapping PRPC Property Values to the form.

This might be a good OOTB solution for you to consider ?

Doesn't look like there are any OOTB solution for this. you can certainly open a fillable eform but the main issue is the Eform (pdf) is opening as per the browsers default PDF opening setting. Doesn't look like there is a way to open it in a section and keeping it editable at the same time. Any idea john?

Hey Folks,

Has anyone successfully implemented this? Open a Fillable PDF in a section and then Edit it and on submit save it back to the case as an attachment?

I am trying to achieve this without any plugin actually (If at all Possible!!)
