Different URLs should open in the same window

My requirement is bit complex to be explaiined :) so please bear with it..

When a user pastes a URL(with a workobject ID in it) in the browser window then it will display a composite portal and the work object will be displayed in a separate tab. Now if the user clicks on the URL with a deifferent workobject ID then its should display the WO in the same window that have been opened earlier but in a diff tab. The second URL click should not open a new IE window. How do we do this.

I hope you understand...

The name is Script, JavaScript.
I have this in a utility somewhere, I'll see if I can fetch it.

The business use case here is commonly sending URL's via email notification. The user clicks on the link and gets the workitem within the portal. The challenge is handling where the click again, and most email clients/browsers are generally conditioned to open this in a separate window...

The challenge is indeed as Pradeep articulated in April -- how to make this PRThread safe.

Hi Jon,

I have looked at the public api, and I can make things work when I am in the portal - but as I said, I have been unable to execute an activity / flow within a portal from a url. So if you have a utility that does some of this I would be very interrested :)

How did you create an activity that displays the portal AND opens a work object? I have had little luck with that adventure so far.

Can you provide some information on how you can create a url that when clicked by the user will open a portal and the work item? I have a requirement in my project for this functionality.

Hi Team,

Is there any update on this, even i have same requirement.

My requirement is depending upon the operator, i should display the different URL's on a same link.

For single URL, we can use the open URL in window and provide the URL directly. What should be done if there are multiple URL's?

Please help me on this.

Thanks,

Divya.

Hello Divya,

Hope u r constructing URLs dynamically. In such a case u can use a js called from an activity and as far as I can understand different URLs would be called based on conditions which can be embedded in js itself. Please let me know if it works.
