Looks like all CSSA questions are getting clarified ;). Anyways, there is an article in PDN on your question.
Thanks,

Connect-SOAP wraps XML content in a SOAP envelope. With Connect-HTTP, the message content is whatever you want it to be, including XML. If the service you are connecting to expects SOAP content, use Connect-SOAP, particularly if there is WSDL that describes the service. Otherwise, Connect-HTTP is more flexible.

Connect-SOAP:
It is XML based message exchange with rigid typing. It is a heavyweight messaging. End-end message security is given using WS-Security.This service can authenticate the client, encrypt part or whole of message and the security is not restricted only to transport layer. It uses POST method.

Connect-HTTP:
It is XML or JSON based message exchange as in case of REST.It is lightweight.
End-end message security is given using HTTPs. It uses both GET or POST method.
